TAKEO: World Vision International, a Christian relief organization, claims to have over 30,000 people during their 15-year plan to address challenges and promote community empowerment since 2007

On August 23, World Vision met with local people in Samrong District to jointly celebrate the achievements of the 15-year mission to bring about change for children and vulnerable communities.

The Governor of the Samrong District Board of Governors contributed significantly to the promotion and improvement of health, nutrition, education, food security and protection of children and youth, especially in the target areas of Samrong District. He added that World Vision also made it possible for low-income families to send their children to school, get enough food and reduce migration.

In October 2007, World Vision started to implement programs in in 32 villages of two communes (Sla and Chmar Pen) in the Takeo province, benefiting 26,184 adults, including 8,934 women, and 4,314 children.

In addition, World Vision has initiated three agricultural development communities to establish and manage three water supply stations for distribution to more than 970 families, including schools.

World Vision is a Christian organization that provides development assistance and advocacy to help children, families and communities get out of poverty and injustice by working for all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.

World Vision began its mission in Cambodia in the 1970’s, working closely with ministries, local partners and community groups, and collaborating with communities to improve the lives of vulnerable Cambodian children. The program’s main focus is on nutrition, education and child protection and participation.
